Lily Grace
This canvas was created for a family that had been told they couldn't have children.
This is part of the e-mail I received:
"I have a need for a very special gift for some friends that are expecting in May. They have been trying to have children for years but have not been able and were about to adopt in January but that fell through and they were heartbroken but...God in His goodness has blessed them with a child of their own. Yep..just after the adoption fell through, they found out they were pregnant...nothing short of a miracle for them for sure. It is a little girl and they are naming her Lily Grace. I would really like to order one of your canvas paintings for them."
I am praising the Lord with this family!
So thankful I got to be a teeny part of this special time for them. : )

I love making sweet canvases for new little ones.
It is such a joy to celebrate with these families. : )
Welcome Miss Lynlee Kate!
Beautiful Barn
I have always had a thing for old barns. Something about them captivates me.
I was recently asked to paint a picture of a barn that has been in a woman's family for a long time. Her husband wanted to give it to her as an anniversary present. I loved the picture that her husband sent me, so I wanted to try and get the painting as close to it as possible.

The Moon is Round
One of the joys of doing these paintings is getting to support amazima with the proceeds.
The other biggest joy is being able to be a part of so many special moments in people lives.
Some of the moments are joyous and others are very difficult.
I received this heart breaking email from one of my college friends:
"Hey girl! I have a project in mind and thought of you. A friend of ours lost their 2 1/2 year old son last week. He passed away while he was sleeping during naptime. It was unexpected - he was not sick. The pastor shared a cool story during his funeral and I wanted to put the message on a canvas for the them. The main message of the story included these words, "The moon is round." In short, implying that when we see only a half moon or a crescent, the moon is still round...the same with God. When we feel like we see only a sliver of His love, He is still love...He is still full and round."
~
I suggested that we do a picture frame instead, so that they could put a sweet picture of him in it.
My heart continues to break for them. Please lift this family up in prayer. I can't imagine losing a child. I hope this picture frame is a reminder to the family of their precious boy and of God's sovereignty during difficult times.

I got to make this sweet canvas for some of our good friends. They kept their nursery the same, but wanted a new canvas for their new little girl.
